Air shifter/ engine mount

Due to the unfortunate misplacement of our original engine/ air shifter brackets, we were forced to re-design and manufacture.
This being said we took the opportunity to improve upon our previous design. Initially we had a large block of aluminum water-jet cut to a rough profile, and then further machined for lightening and mounting points.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Engine coolant outlet

Here we have the coolant passages that circulate the coolant around the engine bay to and from the radiators at the front of the car. The coolant will pass via a 29mm ID/ 31.5OD tube out of the engine down under the oil tank and into the frame rail passage to the front.
The bespoke outlet pipe has been designed to incorporate a passage linking the outlet to the header tank via a 19mm pipe. This will allow for water overflow, and for any air within the system to rise into the header tank and bleed out.

Custom made oil fitting

Here we have a custom made -12 fitting so that the sender stage on the oil pump will clear the alternator and pulleys as it leads off to the oil cooler.

Header tanks mounted!

The header tanks have been mounted so that the plumbing system can be accurately measured and designed.

And the plumbing begins

Its been a busy few months at Nitron, designing and prototyping kits for both cars and bikes! But with the Lotus staring at me with big puppie-dog eyes, it only seemed fair to give it some much needed attention.
The Goodridge fittings order has arrived so we got to work in designing and mocking up the plumbing.
We started with the front radiator system. The blue piping is simply a mock-up until we have bespoke black silicon pipe bends made up.
The water pump for the charge system has also been mounted so that the pipes can be trimmed and fitted.

Charge pipes

The charge pipes have been provisionally laid in place with silicon hose and tape.

This will help us with plumbing in our fluid lines.
